Hardin County has several entertaining and historical festivals and events throughout the year. August brings the Heritage Fest and Civil War Reenactment held in Elizabethtown. In September the Cave-In-Rock Frontier Days event is held. The Rosiclare Fluorspar Festival is held in October. Smiley Club cookouts are held in May and October. All on the banks of the Ohio River.
